Kareena Kapoor is not pregnant

Last week a couple of healthy Kareena Kapoor pictures were published in a tabloid in India. Thus resulting into a perfectly concocted story as to why Kareena looked plump or why was she dressed in a loose casual T-shirt.

It was a perfect example of a made up story with some speculations and strategically selected picture.

But a point to be made is that when the tabloid published those pictures they never made a statement that Kareena was pregnant. All they did was posted the picture and questioned Kareena's attempt to cover herself up, to be precise her belly.

The tabloid in question, MidDay, later posted another picture of Kareena in an event and all they wrote was, "The actress preferred a loose flowing top. Ever since the actress was spotted last week at the airport trying to conceal something below her tummy, speculation has been rife about Bebo and her belly!"

Rest was left to wild imaginations for the media. The picture was taken as reference by the country's leading newspapers and dotcoms to make their own conclusion that the 'Heroine' actress was pregnant.

For sure the news must have trickled down to Kareena or else why would a friend of her come out to give explanation to the media on the actress' behalf.

According to ZeeNews, her friend clarified that Kareena is not pregnant. It is just media frenziness surrounding the picture which is baseless but otherwise it's business as usual for Kareena.

The actress will resume her shoot for her next project 'Heroine' from end of February which will continue for 25 to 30 days.

If one remembers Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was first considered for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ but her pregnancy toppled Madhur's plan and he had to ask Kareena to step into Ash's shoe.

Kareena's pregnancy theory must have sent some jittery in Madhur's spine. But if Kareena's friend is to be believed Madhur can heave a sigh of relief.

Kareena Kapoor - Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Bebo gives us the lowdown on why Imran is ‘fresh as a daisy’ and their film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which opens today

Something old - boy meets girl; something new – boy marries girl in a day; something borrowed – Kutcher and Diaz’s exploits, anyone?; and something blue – we’ve all seen the ‘rate my bum,’ trailers. After a mammoth promotional campaign that began in November, the day is finally here when Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan are heading to the chapel to get married in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. Opening across the UAE this evening, the quirky rom-com (which reportedly bears no resemblance to What Happens in Vegas, despite the previous facetious remarks) looks set to draw in monster crowds this weekend being the title release leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Set in America’s Sin City, straight-laced architect Rahul Kapoor (Khan) meets kooky hairstylist Riana Braganza (Kapoor) the very night he loses his high-flying job. A fairly extensive session in the bar later and Rahul and Riana tie the knot in one of Vegas’ many 24-hour chapels.

Cut to the morning after and both decide to get the mistake annulled as soon as possible. The only catch is the next available court date happens to be ten days away, which means being stuck together for over a week. Arguments, tender moments and laughs ensue, but will the most unlikely of friendships turn into love?

“I wanted to do the film because I would be paired with Imran,” Kareena told us when she visited Dubai last week. “In 2011 I was in two big films with two veteran actors, but this is my first film this year and I am next to this man who is fresh as a daisy.

“There is something immensely likeable about him. He is not a typical Bollywood actor. I feel he is the dark horse and audiences are drawn to that.”

Although Kareena conceded she had not seen one of Imran’s films the whole way through (to which the actor recommended Delhi Belly), she intoned that the parts of his movies she had seen were enough to convince her of his credentials.

“Other actors get very caught up in themselves. Everything they talk about is to do with the films they are in and trying to get one up on others. I think Imran is different because he lived in LA and was outside the industry for a long time. It makes his approach a lot fresher. I haven’t seen too many actors, apart from Saif, who have other interests like him,” Kareena reasoned.

In the film, Kareena’s Riana is a happy-go-lucky girl who aims to coax the uptight Rahul out of his shell. Quick wit, some goofy get-up and a never-say-die attitude, Kareena stated she was as fun as Riana, but not as carefree.

“For example,” Kareena explained, “I like to watch my performances to see how I have done. I have to know whether I am looking good or looking bad on screen and I don’t think Riana would be like that. She wouldn’t care and would be off looking for the next adventure.

“One or two times during my career I have seen something bad (onscreen) and I have wondered how I could have done it. There’s nothing you can do about it after it’s out there, however, you can learn not to do what you did again.”

Despite a barrage of persuasion Kareena would not reveal the moments she felt she had not lived up to her potential for fear of drawing attention to them.

During the making of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu it was well-documented that Imran turned photographer and clicked a series of pictures of Kareena when the two were not on-set. This collection has been made into a public exhibition after the quality of the shots and subject were widely praised. It was put to Kareena whether she thought this would become a regular feature of her filming schedule.

“I think I should do that! I’ll get every actor to take my picture and we can make one big collection. I’ll call it ‘Kareena by the Khans’ after I have done my coming film (Talaash) with Imran’s uncle, Aamir.”

Kareena Kapoor- No more action films, vows

No more action-packed movies, says Kareena Kapoor, who has done daredevil stunts in the spy thriller "Agent Vinod", which is her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan's home production.

"I don't enjoy action films. I don't like action scenes and stunts. I like conversational and romantic films like 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'. I am scared of action and gun shots. Saif used to get angry and say 'you can't do that'" said Kareena.

"No more action films for me, no more harness and no stunts at all! After 'Agent Vinod', I enjoy song and dance sequences much more," she added.

"Agent Vinod" is slated for a March 23 release.
